Nero offers free MPEG-4 Encoder download

Nero Burning ROM is one of the most popular CD writing softwares out there. And from the same stable comes the MPEG-4 Encoder, but what is so big about it? It is free! Yes, the Windows version is available for free for noncommercial use.

How big is this new compression? According to the press release, the maximum compression level can squeeze the contents of up to 58 CDs into a single CD. An entire audio album can be saved in a single .mp4 file with advanced content management, including support for CD-audio index maps, embedded album art, and ReplayGain.

The $9 MP3 Player from Evergreen

An MP3 player for $9. Yes, it is not a dream. The Japanese company Evergreen has brought out an MP3 player for $9. I don't think iPods come that cheap, do they?

Evergreen's DN-2000 MP3 player can play up to 5h of Mp3 (AAA Battery), support up to 1GB SD Card and this for only 58x60x13mm and 30g.
